As we going into the weekend i thought this would be a good opportunity to address the hostess gift.
What is a hostess gift?
A hostess gift is a gift that you give the hostess. This happens at occasions when someone had to do all the work in preparing the event or evening to which you were invited. To show your appreciation, you should bring the hostess a gift, w way to tell them thanks for their hard work and generosity. Giving a hostess gift is not mandatory but it shows good manners. Hostess gifts do not have to be extravagant by any means. A bottle of wine- in a wine bag, to show it's a gift, fun cocktail napkins, wine stoppers, flowers, coffee mug, chocolates, etc..
When not to bring a hostess gift?
If you were asked to contribute a food item or drinks, then a hostess gift is not necessary.
